This year we ran two events as part of the Sheffield Festival of Debate. Our Community Ownership walkshop took a circular route around the city centre, with prompt cards read by participants giving building facts about empty buildings, gap sites and new initiatives, alongside tactics for funding and policy that might be employed to enable change.
The Community Ownership Workshop was started off with a talk about the CLT and our progress so far. This was followed by a session that collectively explored where there might be overlaps and mutually beneficial outcomes between collective ownership stratgeies and Sheffield City Council’s City Goals
These sessions have informed our current work on funding bids to further connect individuals and organisations in the city.
