Collaboration with the School of Architecture of Sheffield University

Sheffield CLT and Studio Polpo  are collaborating with the School of Architecture at the University of Sheffield, on a six week design based project to explore sites and models for community led development in Sheffield City Centre. The project, run by Dr Cristina Cerulli and Dr Beatrice De Carli, is titled “Re-appropriating the post-industrial landscape through community-led development” and it is part of the MA in Urban Design. The site chosen for the project is a strip across Sheffield City Centre,  containing a wealth of vacant areas and underused buildings. The 28 students participating to this project have been divided into five groups, with each group focusing on one portion of the strip.

On 17th May 2016 students will create an installation, with the aim of illustrating and displaying their suggestions regarding their selected site. Their works, in the form of a billboard and a pamphlet, will be set up in different parts of the city and an extract of the two will be exhibited around the city.
