Members of the Sheffield CLT met on the 10th of Jan for the first of two facilitated workshops to discuss priorities and structures. The session was facilitated by Blase Lambert of the Confederation of Co-operative Housing using their Wayshaper toolkit, a card-based decision making tool that allows groups “to explore the needs and preferences of their members, map out priorities, explore options and make decisions” early on in the process.

The session allowed us to explore the implications of different funding models, memberships and tenure types on each other, and test how decisions around constituting as a Community Benefit Society, and retrofit play out. There was also a lot of discussion and learning around tenure and ownership types, as well as hoe the CLT might work beyond an initial development to support other sites.
